The Teachers Manual (download index) contains key information on how MYOB "ticks" - a valuable resource when teaching computer accounting.

A student instruction booklet (download example page) details the assignment.

This complete teaching package is ideal for teachers introducing students to computerised accounting.  The package enables students to understand how a business can be transferred over to MYOB.  Key documents such as, chart of accounts, cheque butts, purchases, invoices and other primary documents contained in the package provide a real life small business accounting example.  The kit can be purchased individually or as a class set.  Replacement components can also be purchased separately.

Preface of the Teachers Manual (excerpt)

"I produced Docs in a Box because I believe that the very best teaching/learning outcomes result from hands-on, real life experiences. A vital aim in teaching acounting is to ensure that the student can transfer skills learned during a training exercise to the actual business environment.

Most traditional training exercises comprise neatly typed lists of cheques , deposits, other information and step by step instructions. However in a "real" business environment, source documents such as cheque books, deposit books, bank statements, receipts and invoices are the ingredients used to produce the required information.

.....Docs in a Box may be your introduction to MYOB (or any other accounting package for that matter) or it may be used as a formal test at the end of a computer accounting unit.
